for This Scene

The scenery for this favorite old farce consisted of fragmentary units set in front of framed, painted drops, the drops painted to resemble tinted engravings. The drop for this scene was painted from a period engraving, the proportions of which were revised in PhotoShop. The painters worked at night, painting directly from the projected image.
